Transformation By the Word is the Bible preaching and teaching ministry of Pastor Elijah Wreh, dedicated to fostering global biblical knowledge and fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission. Since its founding in 2016, this ministry has proclaimed God’s majesty, the truthfulness of His Word, the transformative power of the cross, and His extraordinary grace to audiences across the world.
Rooted in the conviction that Scripture alone holds the power to transform lives, Transformation By the Word exists to train and prepare leaders for Christ, equipping believers everywhere with sound biblical teaching that anchors faith, deepens understanding, and inspires faithful living. Through broadcast media, international partnerships, web resources, and pastoral care, this ministry extends the reach of the Gospel from North America to Liberia and beyond.
The name Transformation By the Word captures the heart of this ministry: lives changed by the living and active Word of God. As Hebrews 4:12 declares, “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword.” It is this transformative power that Pastor Wreh proclaims with passion, clarity, and unwavering commitment.
Training and Preparing Leaders for Christ
The vision of Transformation By the Word is twofold: to train leaders who will serve Christ with excellence and to prepare leaders who will advance His Kingdom across every nation. This vision recognizes that the future of the global church depends on faithful men and women who are grounded in Scripture, shaped by sound doctrine, and equipped for effective ministry.
Training involves the systematic impartation of biblical knowledge, theological understanding, and practical ministry skills. Preparation goes further—it encompasses the spiritual formation, character development, and pastoral heart necessary to shepherd God’s people with wisdom and love. Together, training and preparation produce leaders who are not only competent but consecrated for Kingdom service.
Transformation By the Word is dedicated to fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission to “go and make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19-20, NASB). This commitment proclaims God’s majesty, the truthfulness of His Word, the transformative power of the cross, and His extraordinary grace worldwide. |
This mission is expressed through four core commitments:
Since 2016, Transformation By the Word has served as a vehicle for global Gospel proclamation and biblical instruction. What began as a broadcast ministry has grown into a multi-faceted platform reaching thousands of listeners, training pastors across continents, and providing biblical resources through digital and print media.
Transformation By the Word stands on the historic Christian faith as expressed in the essential doctrines of Scripture: the triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the full deity and humanity of Christ; salvation by grace through faith; the authority and inerrancy of Scripture; the bodily resurrection; and the return of Christ. These truths are non-negotiable and form the bedrock of all ministry activities.
Since 2016, the Transformation By the Word broadcast has been the ministry’s primary vehicle for teaching the truths of Scripture and presenting a message of genuine hope and encouragement to a worldwide audience. Through radio, video, and digital streaming, Pastor Elijah Wreh’s expository teaching reaches listeners across multiple continents.
The broadcast serves as the initial step in fulfilling the ministry’s mission to teach the Bible, proclaim the Gospel, mentor international pastors, and provide uplifting messages from the Scriptures. Through consistent, faithful exposition of God’s Word, listeners are equipped to grow in their faith and apply biblical truth to every area of life.
Transformation By the Word desires all people to know the truth in God’s Word. One of the unique strengths of the international ministries is that our pastors live, work, and minister in many countries worldwide. This allows Pastor Elijah’s heart for preaching and teaching God’s Word and offering the hope of the Gospel to be expressed locally, meeting people where they are.
The ministry recognizes that trustworthy discipleship materials can sometimes be challenging to access, especially for church leaders in remote areas of the world. This drives our commitment to equipping pastors wherever they serve with the resources they need to faithfully preach and teach God’s Word.
A Christian ministry with an international emphasis must recognize the powerful ministry tool the Internet has become and will continue to be in the future. Transformation By the Word desires to offer worldwide listeners and supporters instant, round-the-clock, convenient access to biblical media resources that can only be available through the Web.
The web staff seeks to offer an easily navigable website where visitors can find help on specific issues and questions. The website constantly expands with new products, articles, blogs, and topical sites, providing an ever-growing library of biblical resources.
The Living for Christ Ministries offers help and hope in times of suffering, loss, grief, or change. When we allow our loving, good God to work through these seasons, we often discover the most significant purposes and passions for our lives.
From its dual bases in Elyria, Ohio, and Monrovia, Liberia, Transformation By the Word continues to expand its reach and deepen its impact. The ministry’s influence extends across continents through broadcast media, trained pastors, web resources, and personal discipleship relationships.
The ministry remains committed to expanding its reach while deepening engagement with global audiences. Future plans include enhanced digital platforms, expanded pastor training programs, additional language translations, and deeper partnerships with indigenous church leaders. The goal remains unchanged: training leaders for Christ and preparing leaders for Christ until He returns.
Dr. Pastor Elijah Wreh
Founder and President, Transformation By the Word
Dr. Pastor Elijah Wreh is a theologian, preacher, teacher, and shepherd whose passion for God’s Word has shaped a ministry reaching across continents. With a heart for training leaders and proclaiming the Gospel, Pastor Wreh founded Transformation By the Word in 2016 as a platform for expository Bible teaching and global discipleship.
Pastor Wreh’s academic and ministry training reflects a deep commitment to rigorous theological scholarship and faithful pastoral service. His educational journey has equipped him with the exegetical skills, historical awareness, and systematic understanding necessary for faithful biblical exposition. This academic foundation informs every sermon, teaching, and written resource produced by the ministry.
Pastor Wreh’s preaching philosophy is rooted in three convictions:
This approach ensures that every message is faithful to Scripture, relevant to contemporary life, and transformative in its impact. Pastor Wreh believes that the Word of God, faithfully proclaimed, has the power to change hearts, renew minds, and transform lives.
While a grace-based ministry such as ours allows for freedom of interpretation and expression in many areas of Christian practice, we firmly believe that the following essential beliefs are absolute and non-negotiable.
We affirm our confidence in God’s inerrant Word. We treasure its truths, and we respect its reproofs.
The 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and written by chosen men of God. Without error in its original manuscripts, the Bible is completely reliable as the final authority in all matters of doctrine and practice and centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ.
We acknowledge the Creator-God as our heavenly Father, infinitely perfect and intimately acquainted with all our ways.
As the first person of the Trinity, the Father is the source and ruler of all things. In the unity of the one God, there are three divine persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power but distinct in roles.
We claim Jesus Christ as our Lord—the very God who came in human flesh—the object of our worship and the subject of our praise.
As the second person of the Trinity, the Son reveals the Father. As fully God and fully man, Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died to pay in full the penalty for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will come again in glory.
We recognize the Holy Spirit as the third member of the Godhead who is incessantly at work, convicting, convincing, and comforting.
As the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is the personal agent of the Father and Son for revelation and regeneration. The Holy Spirit uniquely indwells individual believers, giving them new life and empowering them for lives of personal holiness.
We believe the offer of salvation is God’s love gift to all. Those who accept it by faith, apart from works, become new creatures in Christ.
Because fallen humans cannot save themselves, God, according to His sovereign mercy, acts to save those who come to Him by grace through faith. Simply through believing that Christ died for their sins and rose from the dead, a person can be forgiven, declared righteous, reborn, and guaranteed eternal life with God.
We anticipate our Lord’s promised return, which could occur at any moment.
According to the Father’s plan, Jesus Christ will one day return in power to bring completion of salvation and rewards to believers and judgment to unbelievers. Though the details of Christ’s return are sometimes unclear, its reality is inevitable, and all believers are called to live holy lives in anticipation of His coming.
We affirm that all humanity is created in the image of God and that all have sinned and fallen short of His glory.
Humanity was created by God in His own image, male and female, with inherent dignity, worth, and purpose. Through the disobedience of Adam, sin entered the world, and all human beings have inherited a fallen nature, alienated from God and incapable of saving themselves. Apart from the redemptive work of Christ, every person stands in need of God’s grace, forgiveness, and transforming power.
We affirm the Church as the body of Christ, comprised of all true believers from every nation, tribe, and tongue.
The universal Church is the spiritual body of Christ, made up of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. The local church is a visible expression of the universal Church, gathering for worship, the preaching of the Word, fellowship, prayer, and the observance of the ordinances. The Church exists to glorify God, edify believers, and proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth, fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission until He returns.
We observe the two ordinances given by our Lord: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Baptism is the outward identification of the believer with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, signifying the new life received through faith in Him. The Lord’s Supper is a sacred ordinance in which believers, through the bread and the cup, remember the body and blood of Christ given for our salvation, proclaim His death until He comes, and renew their commitment to Him. Both ordinances are observed in obedience to Christ’s command and as visible testimonies of saving faith.
Transformation By the Word exists for one purpose: to see lives transformed by the power of God’s Word. From the broadcast studios to the mission field, from the web to the local church, every effort of this ministry is directed toward training leaders for Christ and preparing leaders for Christ.
We invite you to partner with us in this Kingdom work. Whether through prayer, financial support, or active participation, your involvement helps extend the reach of biblical truth to those who desperately need to hear it. Together, we can fulfill Christ’s Great Commission, making disciples of all nations until He returns.
